March 2026 presents an unusual volume with 711 recorded releases (more than in January and February), with a very clear bottleneck right from the first week. March 5th alone accumulates Marathon, Planet of Lana II, Never Grave, Pokémon Pokopia, and Slay the Spire II in early access, not to mention the new WoW expansion on March 2nd. This spike at the beginning of the month is no coincidence: the Steam Spring Sale (March 19 to 26, 2026) naturally draws attention and prompts many publishers to publish before the promotional period. As a result, organic visibility will be mechanically more constrained during the first fortnight.

The Shooter and action-adventure segment strongly structures the agenda. Marathon (03/05) stands out as one of the major hubs of the month, with significant marketing. Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (03/19) and Crimson Desert (03/19) also occupy the action-oriented adventure space on the same day. The RPG genre and its variants are equally present. World of Warcraft: Midnight opens the month on March 2nd in the MMORPG expansion slot, while Solasta II (03/12) occupies the tactical and turn-based niche. Life simulation games are also present, with the release of Pokémon Pokopia (03/05) and the port of Disney Dreamlight Valley (03/25).

For a studio positioned in these genres, the first fortnight is to be avoided given the number of games, especially when some of these games benefit from significant marketing or a well-known license. The real strategic window paradoxically appears after the Steam Sale (March 26). Screamer precisely chooses this day to launch in the Racing segment, which is almost isolated this month. This late positioning avoids the density of the beginning of the month, betting on the fact that these sales, which are less significant than the summer or winter sales, will not completely drain players’ wallets.
